What is the importance of your providing El Corral Bookstore with a list of the books and supplies your classes assign?
- We all share the goal of ensuring that students have all the course materials they need before the start of classes.
- Academic Senate Resolution AS-654-07 states: “Beginning July 2007, departments are required to inform El Corral Bookstore of textbooks and coursepack selections for all courses requiring textbooks or coursepacks at least six weeks prior to the start of the academic quarter.”
- Six weeks is the minimal amount of time needed to ensure students will have their course materials by the first day of class.
- Cal Poly’s Disability Resources Center relies on the comprehensiveness and timeliness of El Corral Bookstore’s class book lists to process student requests to convert materials into accessible formats.
- The majority of students will choose to reserve or buy their textbooks and course supplies at Cal Poly’s campus bookstore. They rely on El Corral Bookstore to know and to have whatever they need for class. Many students have a sponsor (e.g., California Department of Rehabilitation) who will pay only for textbooks and supplies purchased at the campus bookstore.
You can submit your class book lists on-line:
In the interim between On-Line Faculty Adoptions (rendered unusable by required server upgrades) and PolyList (still being tested for compliance with current accessibility requirements), you have the on-line Class List Form. You can submit a class book list on-line, but you cannot search our database for class history or books. Class history is the list of books for classes in prior terms. If you need assistance or information about class history or books, please request that information in an e-mail to courseware@calpoly.edu or call 805-756-5304. For class history, term, department, and course are required; instructor and section(s) are optional.
