Do you sell gift certificates?
We no longer sell gift certificates. We have learned that
gift cards
are more convenient for customers to buy and to use, whether shopping on-line or in-store.
Do you honor the gift certificates you sold?
We sold
paper certificates
on-line and in-store for use exclusively in-store. We sold
digital certificates
on-line for use exclusively on-line. Both certificates were sold without an expiration date. We honor the certificates we sold.
How do I use a paper certificate?
Tender the certificate when you pay for a purchase at El Corral Bookstore or at Cal Poly Downtown. If the certificate’s dollar value is greater than the purchase total, you will receive a
gift card
instead of change.
How do I use a digital certificate?
On-Line Order:
Enter the certificate’s code when you check out your shopping cart. Whether or not the certificate’s dollar value is sufficient payment, you need to submit your order with a valid credit card or
Campus Express Club
account. If the certificate’s dollar value is greater than the purchase total, the unused value remains on account for later use with the same code.
Textbook Reservation:
Enter the certificate’s code when you sign up on-line to reserve textbooks. Whether or not the certificate’s dollar value is sufficient payment, you need to submit your reservation with a valid credit card or
Campus Express Club
account. If the certificate’s dollar value is greater than the purchase total, the unused value remains on account for later use with the same code.
What if I lose a gift certificate?
Please
report a lost or stolen certificate
without delay.
Paper Certificate:
We are not obligated to replace a paper certificate that is lost or stolen, but we will replace a certificate with a
gift card
if we can answer
yes
to three questions.
First:
Do we have a record of the certificate with you as its buyer or recipient?
Second:
Do we know the certificate’s dollar value?
Third:
Do we know that the certificate has
not
been redeemed?
Digital Certificate:
We do not honor a digital certificate if we do not have the customer’s name on record as the recipient. Still, you should keep your certificate (whether printed or e-mailed) where others can not read the certificate’s code. We can replace a certificate with a
gift card
that has the same dollar value as the certificate’s unused dollar value.
